We use SOY WAX for our clamshells and we strive to have CLEAN SCENTS*.

(*clean scents have gone through rigorous production omitting toxins that are harmful to all family members including pets.)

  • What is SOY WAX and how is it harvested?

Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans. After harvesting, the beans are cleaned, cracked, de-hulled, and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted from the flakes and hydrogenated. The hydrogenation process converts some of the fatty acids in the oil from unsaturated to saturated. This process dramatically alters the melting point of the oil, making it solid at room temperature. The leftover bean husks are commonly used as animal feed.

  • SOY WAX sustainability

Soy's greatest advantage is that it is completely renewable. While the global reserves of oil shrink and paraffin prices increase, the only limit to the soy supply is how much we choose to grow. The U.S. grows the vast majority of the world's soybeans, primarily in Illinois, Iowa, and Indiana. Soy wax is eco-friendly, renewable, American grown, sustainable, and carbon-neutral.

Our soy wax sets us apart from others because our soy wax is capable of holding about 10% more fragrance than other soy waxes. This means longer melt times and a stronger fragrance throw.

  • What "Clean Scents" OMIT

✖ Carcinogens: These are materials known or thought to cause cancer.

✖ Mutagens: Materials that change the DNA of a cell, harming the cell and causing diseases like cancer.

✖ Reproductive toxins: Toxins that adversely affect reproductive organs and increase the risk of birth defects.

✖ Organ toxins: These are toxins that can cause adverse effects or disease within specific bodily organs.

✖ Acute toxins: Toxins that can cause adverse effects from a single exposure. Generally, this would be accidental exposure like spillage or ingestion.

  • Clean Scents that are 100% phthalate-free

Phthalates, or phthalate esters, are a group of chemicals with a variety of different uses and applications. The most common use is in the manufacturing of plastics to make them more flexible and durable, but phthalates can be found in pharmaceuticals, building materials, cleaning products, and other household goods.
